Dr. Charles Poblenz was born and raised in Jensen Beach, Florida. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Chemistry minor from the University of North Florida, where he volunteered at the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless as a dental assistant. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Lexington, Kentucky.

We opened our doors in San Marco because this is where we live, and this is the neighborhood we wanted to give back to. Through the Donated Dental Services (DDS) program, we provide free dental care to Jacksonville residents who cannot afford treatment and have no access to public aid. Before dental school, Dr. Poblenz volunteered as a dental assistant at the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless right here in Jacksonville. That experience showed him how much of a difference a single appointment can make in someone’s life, and it’s something we carry into every patient interaction today. Every member of our team also completes advanced continuing education hours each year that go well beyond what the state of Florida requires. We do that because we want to stay current on the best ways to take care of you, not because a licensing board told us to.

Yes. We reserve time for emergency patients Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Whether you have a severe toothache, knocked-out tooth, or broken restoration, Dr. Poblenz and our team use advanced diagnostic technology to identify and treat emergencies quickly. Call us immediately if you have a dental emergency.

Costs vary depending on the treatment. A routine exam, cleaning, and X-rays for new patients without insurance starts at $149. We accept most PPO insurance plans and offer in-office membership plans and CareCredit financing for patients without coverage. We always provide a clear cost breakdown before any treatment begins.
Your first visit typically takes about an hour. We start with a comprehensive exam including digital X-rays and an iTero 5D scan, followed by a professional cleaning. Dr. Poblenz reviews your findings, discusses any concerns, and creates a personalized treatment plan. Our treatment coordinator will walk you through costs, insurance coverage, and payment options before you leave.

Absolutely. JAX Dental Studio is a family-friendly practice that welcomes patients of all ages. We offer preventive services like dental sealants and fluoride treatments specifically designed for younger patients, along with comprehensive care for adults. Dr. Poblenz and our hygienists are experienced at making children feel comfortable during their visits.
Our office at 3647 Hendricks Ave is conveniently located in Jacksonville’s San Marco neighborhood. We serve patients throughout Jacksonville, including Riverside, Southside, Avondale, St. Nicholas, Murray Hill, Mandarin, San Jose, and the Jacksonville Beaches.
