Dr. Poblenz will gently numb the area and prepare the two teeth on either side of the gap. A thin layer of enamel is trimmed from these anchor teeth to make room for the crowns that will hold your bridge in place. These prepared teeth are called abutment teeth.
Digital impressions of your prepared teeth and surrounding arch are taken and sent to a trusted dental lab. Technicians use this data to fabricate your custom bridge to precise specifications so the fit, bite, and appearance match your natural teeth.
A temporary bridge is placed over your prepared abutment teeth to protect them and restore your appearance while your permanent bridge is being fabricated, usually a matter of a few weeks. Dr. Poblenz will review care instructions for the temporary so it stays in place during the waiting period.
When your permanent bridge is ready, you return to JAX Dental Studio so Dr. Poblenz can check the fit, color, and bite. Minor adjustments are made as needed until the bridge feels completely natural. If larger refinements are required, the bridge returns to the lab before final placement.
Once the fit is confirmed, Dr. Poblenz permanently cements the bridge onto your abutment teeth. You leave JAX Dental Studio with a complete, stable smile and clear care instructions so your bridge stays in excellent condition for years to come.
