What you do in the first few minutes can affect the outcome
- Call us first at (904) 396-4091 so we can prepare for your arrival.
- Knocked-out adult tooth: pick it up by the crown, do not scrub it, and try to reinsert it. If you cannot, keep it moist in milk or in your cheek and get to us within 30 minutes. Do not reinsert a baby tooth.
- Pain and swelling: use a cold compress, 20 minutes on and 20 off. Do not put aspirin directly on the gum.
- Broken pieces: bring any crown, restoration, or tooth fragment in a small container.
- Medical emergency: uncontrolled bleeding, facial trauma, or trouble breathing or swallowing needs 911 or the nearest ER first.

If you cannot, keep it moist in milk, inside your cheek, or in a tooth-preservation product, and call us immediately. Reaching a dentist within 30 minutes gives the best chance of saving it. Do not reinsert a baby tooth.
Is a severe toothache always a dental emergency?
It can be. Intense, persistent pain that does not improve with over-the-counter pain relievers may indicate an infection, nerve damage, or an abscess, all of which need professional evaluation. When in doubt, call us and we can help you decide whether same-day care is warranted.
How much does emergency dental treatment cost in Jacksonville?
